CONCEPT

Jun K has been endearingly known by his fanbase as “Panda” due to the shape of his eyes. Overtime, the panda has became his unique indentity. The panda bear (i.e. fur, colour and shape) was hence used as an inspiration for the house design as it represented his unique persona. The panda’s bear is uniquely known worldwide for it’s contrasting black and white fur coat. As a result, the house is designed in the same way. Each room pays tribute to the panda bear’s contrasting colours by using a mixture of light and dark colours. I have also incorporated the panda’s enormous built and body structure in the exterior design by having each floor with different sizes in a curved shape.

SKETCHES

The client's request was a 6x6x6m shoebox apartment. With such a small space, I looked at how to balance funtionality and appeal at the same time, whilst maximizing space.
The design fro the interior is kept simple and modern for the client is a single young artist.
The space consists of two floors. Right in front of the entrance of the first floor there would be a living room that can also be used to play games. On the right there would be a small space for the client to display gifts from his fans and figurine. On the left there would be a kitchen which is connected to the dining table. AS the client lives with his two dogs there would be a glass dog house at the bottom of the stairs.
Once the client arrives at the second floor, there would be a balcony for the client to relax while looking at the view. The second floor is a personal space where it consists of a working area for the client to compose his songs, a bed and a bathroom. The colour of light used on top of the side table would be warm for the client to relax before going to sleep and the light colour at the working area would be more cooler.
